Daniel was a son of Daniel Limerick Markee and Mary Fisher Mock. He was living in Kansas City, Missouri and working as a telegrapher for the Wabash Railroad. He was knocked from a street car by a reckless auto driver in November of 1929 and suffered compound fractures of the left femur. He suffered a secondary hemorrhage from which he died.
