MUENSTER — Services for Louis Sicking, 92, of Muenster are set for 10 a.m., Monday, June 6, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Muenster, with Rev. Ralph Gourley officiating. Burial will be in Hardy Cemetery. Services are directed by McCoy Funeral Home of Muenster.

Louis was born Nov. 23, 1918 on his home place southwest of Muenster where he worked with his parents and siblings until he was inducted into the US Army on October 10, 1942.

He served in the Pacific Campaign until discharged on January 14, 1946. He then returned to Muenster, purchased the home place and continued farming. In 1947, he purchased several milk trucks and hauled milk in cans to Sherman. This was a first in Muenster.

Later he purchased other trucks and transported bulk milk to Dallas. He had encouraged other Cooke County dairy farmers to send their milk to Dallas where a better price could be had. Louis continued his dairy business for many years and then began raising calves and chickens and continued farming. He enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren on the farm. They all enjoyed being there with him.

Louis married Pauline Lutkenhaus on April 30, 1953. They were proud parents of six children. Both Louis and Pauline enjoyed lengthy lives on the farm. They both will be missed by family and friends.

Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Jo and Kelly West of Valley View; Carol Ann and Rod Wilson of Thackerville, Okla; Rita and Tony Motsenbocker of Callisburg; sons and daughters-in-law, Weldon and Ronda Sicking of Muenster, Wesley and Molly Sicking of Muenster and Warren and Shelly Sicking of Muenster.

Louis had 18 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
