Adam Neason Babin, 85, of Alexandria, entered eternal rest on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria.

Funeral services will be from 9 to 10 a.m. today at Samart Funeral Home of Houma. Committal service will follow at the Rogers Cemetery in Houma under the guidance of White Oaks, Alexandria.

He leaves behind his loving family to cherish his memory, his wife of 67 years, Velma Dufrene Babin of Alexandria; four sons, Carol John Babin and wife, Teena, of Bayou Blue, Curtis Joel Babin and wife, Joan, of Tioga, Calvert Jude Babin and wife, Sylvia, of Alexandria, and Cary James Babin and wife, Pam, of Deville; one daughter, Anna Mae Babin Triche of Bayou Blue; three sisters, Nobby Babin, Naomi Babin and Sharron Pascal; three brothers, Nary P. Babin, Norman Babin and Rubin Babin; 10 grandchildren, Lisa Smith and husband, Jeff, Parrish and wife, Dana, Shane and wife, Sarah, Jory and wife, Lisa, Darren and wife, Melissa, Alida Dancer and husband, Dennis, Savannah Lovecchio and husband, Chris, Jonathan "J.B." and wife, Courtney, Katelyn Babin and Jesse Littrel; 17 great-grandchildren, Danielle Smith, Nicole Smith, Regan Witsell, Bryson Witsell, Ty Triche, Tucker Babin, Tyler Babin, Gabbie Triche, Macalya Triche, Austin Dancer, Brianna Crane, Ashley Dancer, Owen Augustine, Madisyn Babin, Ashtyn Crane, Janna Babin and Kinley Lovecchio; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter, Wendy Anne Triche; and son-in-law, Harold Triche of Bayou Blue.

Pallbearer's to serve are Parrish Triche, Jory Babin, Jonathan "J.B." Babin, Shane Babin, Darren Babin and Chris Lovecchio.

He was born Sept. 6, 1928 in Houma to Sidney Tousin "Jack" Babin and Loriana Mae Savoie Babin. He was a loving husband, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.

Samart Funeral Home of Houma is in charge of arrangements.
