There were only brothers in her family so Margaret was given to be raised by Mrs. Cleghorn, who lived near Rapid City South Dakota. She later said she felt closer to the children she was raised with than she did her own family. Only one brother was known to have been fond of her and gave her his horse in his will when he died in 1908.
Her brothers were William Oliver, John Montgomery Jr, Albert, Archie, Melvin, Theodore, Richard R, Frank, and George.
Margaret married Calvin Pepple on October 19, 1910 at the Cleghorn House in Pennington County South Dakota. She was the mother of 6 children, Carlton born in Rapid City in 1912, Vincent, Vivian, Daniel, Elwood and Calvin J. Jr.
Margaret was interred at Garden Of Memories Cemetery, 850 Abbott Street, Salinas, California 93901.
