Lewis William Trumpower, 73, of 1114 Security Road, Hagerstown, died May 19, 1997, at his home.

Born December 22, 1923 in Clear Spring, he was the son of the late Isaac and Bessie Hose Trumpower.

His wife, Margaret D. Trumpower, died in 1988.

He was employed with Dixie Millworks and previously with Cushwa Coal Yards and Victor Products.

He was of Methodist faith. He was a former member of American Legion, Funkstown Post 211 and a member of Hagerstown Suns Fan Club. He was a founding member of Community Rescue Service.

He is survived by four daughters, Cheryl Metzer, Dee Dee Flick, Donna Glaser and Tammy Monroe; two sons, Donald Trumpower and David Trumpower; two sisters, Sarah Brunner and Beulah Younkers; one brother, Richard Trumpower, 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceeded in death by two sisters, Evelyn Negley and Louise Kirby and two grandchildren.

Services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home. Randall Reid, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
