Anthony Mastrantonio Sr was born March 20, 1923 in Sayre, PA, the son of Joseph Mastrantonio and Celia Punchello Mastrantonio. Also brother to Mary, Angeline, Katherine, Louis, Henry, Angelo, and Alexander. Anthony is a NAVY veteran of WWII, having served as a Machinist on the USS Piranha, which conducted war patrols in the South China Sea/South Pacific regions during WWII. After the war, he married Marion Johnson of Towanda, PA in a ceremony at the Church of the Epiphany in Sayre on April 14, 1945, and they later had three children: Antoinette Mastrantonio Cowulich (1947-1990), James Lawrence Mastrantonio ("Larry," 1955-1987), and Anthony Alexander Mastrantonio, Jr. (1953- ) Anthony was a loyal and devoted friend and husband, and a wonderful father to his children. He died tragically of a cerebellar hemangioblastoma from Von Hippel-Lindau disease at age 47.
