Benjamin Nicholas McBurnett

Nick McBurnett, 79, died of heart attack at his farm outside of Rockdale, Texas, in Milam County on Saturday, November 28, 1959. He had been a resident of the Rockdale community for 60 years.

Nick was born April 8, 1880 in Haralson, Georgia to Jefferson McGee McBurnett and Sarah Ann Elizabeth King McBurnett. He was the fifth of 13 children. He married Ethel Davis in Rockdale in 1903.

In 1959, he was survived by his loving wife Ethel McBurnett, as well as four sons and two daughters, as follows: Kenneth McBurnett, E.A. McBurnett, Nick McBurnett, Jr., Tas McGee McBurnett, Buna McElroy, and Wavy Charles. He was also survived by three sisters, Fannie Carroll, Laura Massey, and Bea Britton; and one brother, Lee McBurnett of Robstown, Texas.

Funeral services were held Monday November 30, 1959 in Rockdale, and burial followed in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery under the direction of the Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home.
