Stella, who was called Sue, was married three times. She married in 1914 to Oliver "Roy" Apple (divorced in 1937) and had five sons, Avery, G.B., Aubrey, Raymond, Arthur Everts and two daughters, Lois APPLE Fischer and Sue Ann APPLE Shuptrine Washburn. She married W.B. Plaster in 1939 for 1 year, then married John "Jack" Moore in 1943, with whom she stayed with for life. She sang in a traveling choir shortly after her first marriage, then later taught piano at her home in Grand Prairie, Texas. She loved to play ragtime tunes on the piano. She died on December 16, 1972, in Grand Prairie, Texas, after a bowel resection surgery at the age of 74, and was buried at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas, Texas.
