His parents were Morgan & Louisa (King) Corder. Morgan and Louisa were married 15 March 1815 Frederick, VA. Morgan Corder was in the 1830 Springfield Twp., Muskingum Co., OH census and in the 1832 Mukingum Co. tax list, but a check by the Muskingum Co. Chapter of the OGS of their family files, county histories, will indexes from 1820 thru 1837, county data base and a cemetery survey for Springfield Twp. didn't turn up any additional Morgan Corder information. Perhaps they left the area.

Lewis was a nephew of Lucinda (Corder) Allen of Perry Co. & Hocking Co., OH.

Louisa's sisters Mary King and Elenor King also married into the Allen family, according to Steve Jacobs in 2014.

In the 1880 Perry Co., OH census, Lewis was working as a coal miner. It listed both of his parents as born in VA.

Lewis and Martha Perry were married 24 April 1854 in Muskingum County, OH.

According to the Civil War pension records at Familysearch.org, Lewis filed for his pension on 11 June 1888, then his widow Marthat J. Corder filed for the pension on 23 January 1891.
