He is the husband of Margaret Alberta Patterson and father of Shirley Lee McManus Berry, Henrietta Louise McManus(died when she was six months old), Martha Sue McManus Wolfgang, and Alice Margaret McManus Wilson. He had one brother, Elbert McManus (deceased in 1948) and one sister, Alice Margaret McManus King.
