Departed this life in peace, Sunday, April 24, 1887, aged, 25y 2m 2d. The deceased, Eliza Emerick, daughter of Peter and Sophia Whitmer, was borned [sic] in Pike Township, Perry County, Ohio Feb. 22, 1852. She was dedicated to God in early life by baptism and at a suitable age was confirmed as a full member of the Ev. Luth. Church by Rev. Geo. Yung, to which she remained faithful to death. She was married to Wm. Emerick in Dec. 31, 1876. This union was blessed with two children, one of which preceded her to the spirit world. She was interred in St. John's Cemetery on Apr. 26, 1887.
