Reverend John Loving Seay, son of Abraham Seay and Rosa Berriman Loving, was born May 7, 1811 in Nelson, Va. He married Eliza Jane Thompson and had 7 children. The majority of his life was spent in Talledega County, Alabama where he was a methodist minister. As the story goes - when John was a young boy he played with the indian children, who one day blindfolded him and took him to a cave full of silver. They never revealed the location to young John, but as an adult he spent quite a bit of time searching for the location of the silver mine - with no luck. When John died he was laid to rest next to his wife and mother in Seay Family Cemetery which is on private property, just down the road from the Seay Chapel Cemetery.
