LIEUT. NATHAN7 COE (Nathan6, Capt. David5, Capt. Joseph4, Capt. John3, Robert2, Robert1), born in Middletown (now Middlefield), CT, July 16, 1769, son of Nathan and Abigail (Parsons) Coe, and appears there in the US Census of 1790 as Nathan Coe, jun., head of a family of one male over sixteen years, no males under sixteen years, and one female. About 1800 he removed to Turin. Lewis Co., NY, and in 1805 was commissioned lieutenant in the Lewis Co. militia. (New York Council of Appointment, p. 808.) He was a farmer and died Feb. 27, 1845.
He married first, in 1788, Elizabeth, who died Feb. 12, 1794, leaving no surviving issue. He married second, about 1800, his cousin Jerusha Coe, born in Middletown, CT, July 9,1771, died Jan. 19,1852, daughter of David and Jerusha (Miller) Coe.
