The funeral services of Mrs. Anna Viloma Gaumer were held this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the late residence on West Kirkwood street in charge of Rev. A. G. Lathrop of the Methodist church. The remains were laid to rest in Evergreen cemetery.

Anna V. Bales was born in Bridgeport, Belmont county, Ohio, July 17th, 1860, and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emmor Bales. When a small child the family moved to Iowa where they have since made their home. For 29 years she had made Fairfield her home.

To this union was born six children: Nina Pence of Columbus Junction, Wesley of this city, Cleveland of Muscatine, Harvey, Blanche and Viloma of this city. She is also survived by one sister, Mrs. J. B. Kessler of Detroit, Mich., and two brothers Emmor Bales of Detroit, Mich., and O. K. Bales of Adel, Ia. All her children and her brothers and sisters and one niece Mrs. Etta Taylor of Marshalltown were present at the funeral services today.

Last Tuesday Mrs. Gaumer underwent an operation in the People's Hospital at Chicago for the removal of gall stones, but was unable to survive the operation and passed away early Saturday morning.

Mrs. Gaumer was a member of the Methodist church since childhood but not an active one in late years, her strength and time being all given to her family. She was a devoted mother and her death will be mourned by a large circle of friends.
