s/o John and Elizabeth (Harbison) Bell

h/o Susannah Morris

f/o Mary Jane, William, and James Franklin

Believe he was a member of Co D, Bowen's Batt Mo Vol Cav
under Captain Williams. He mustered in at Rolla, Mo in September 1861 and died in Dent County. Civil War records indicate his death to be in February 1862. Circumstances or cause of death unknown at this time.

William T Bell was the grandson, not the son, of John B Bell and Elizabeth Harbison. His mother was Mary Elizabeth Bell born about 1816 in Kentucky. Mary Elizabeth Bell was never married, but was the mother of four children: William T, Thomas, Mary Catherine, and Nelson Bell. This has been passed down in the family as has the story that the father of Nelson Bell was Nelson Adams who lived in the area. William T Bell was born in Kentucky and the other three were born after the family moved to Missouri. Elizabeth Harbison Bell is my 3rd great grand aunt. The children of John B Bell and Elizabeth Harbison are established to be Susan Helen Bell b 1812, Henry Bell b 1814, Mary Elizabeth Bell b 1816, Elizabeth Stacy Bell, b 1819, Margaret Bell b 1822, Moses Harbison Bell b 1824, Anne Bell b 1826, and James Stacy Bell b 1831, all born in Kentucky.
Best regards,
Pamela Pierce
