Larry was born on February 14, 1938 to John Bryant and Augusta Bell (Ruffin) Knight in Walters, Oklahoma. For many years, Larry was a self-employed licensed master electrician and worked on many projects from Texas and Oklahoma all the way to Prudhoe Bay, Alaska. He even spent time working on projects at the North Pole. Larry was always telling his family that, "…He loved the freedom of the open road." After his retirement, he spent much of his time doing just that, traveling. But there was another side to Larry. He loved his children and grandchildren and nothing pleased him more than being able to spend time with his family. Larry was an avid fisherman and spent a lot of his retirement time at area lakes.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Dale Knight and sisters Reva Stafos and Ester Brown..

Larry is survived by two daughters, Jeri Sharise Terry of Iowa Park, Texas and Cheryl Denise Lockhart, also of Iowa Park. He also leaves behind two sons, Larry Elton Knight, Jr., and Chris Alan Knight, both of Iowa Park, Texas, and five grandchildren, Jennifer Terry, Jessica Terry, Cherish Knight, Alan Knight and Ryan Knight.
