Jewell I. Sells Vaughn, 86, of Williamsport, died at 7:35 p.m. Sunday, May 29, 2011, at Williamsport Nursing and Rehabilitation, where she had resided the past seven weeks.
She was born in Attica on June 4, 1924, the daughter of the late Horace E. and Roxie E. Robbins Sells. She attended Williamsport High School and lived in Williamsport most of her life, residing in Fountain County from 1961 to 1980.
Her marriage was to Cyril Murray in 1941. She later married Edward R. Vaughn in 1962. He preceded her in death in 1995.
Mrs. Vaughn was a waitress at Covington Beef House for 29 years. She attended Williamsport Christian Church and was a member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 3318 of Attica.
She enjoyed playing cards and bingo.
Surviving are four children, Sharon Stover, Myrna Synesael (husband: Randy) and Brenda Butler, all of Williamsport, and Bill Vaughn (wife: Joy) of Indianapolis; a brother, Detro Sells (wife: Berniece) of California; and a sister, Joyce Davis of Williamsport.
Also surviving are sisters-in-law, Shirley Sells of Nevada and Pat Sells of California. She was considered beloved by her children, 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Ingelow Sells, Eugene Sells and Graden Sells.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at noon at the Williamsport Christian Church on Saturday, June 4, 2011, with Rev. Don Williams officiating. Inurnment at Highland Cemetery.
