Roy Bush
MULKEYTOWN -- Roy Franklin Bush departed this life at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2011 in Stonebridge Senior Living Center in Ben-ton. He had attained the age of 81 years, 1 month and 17 days.

Mr. Bush was born April 14, 1930, at Royalton, the son of Frank and Lizzie (Snider) Bush.

He was united in marriage to Mozelle Hargraves on Nov. 26, 1954, in First Christian Church in Royalton and she preceded him in death May 1, 2004.

Franklin was a 1948 graduate of Royalton High School. He worked as a truck driver at Norge in Herrin for 44 years until his retirement. He was a member of the International Aerospace Machinist Union.

Mr. Bush was a faithful member of the First Christian Church in Royalton where he had previously served as Chairman of the church board. He also had served the church as Sunday school superintendent and as a youth leader. He was also past Chairman of the Southern Illinois Christian Camp in West Frankfort.

Left to mourn his passing are his two sons, Denny (Carol) Bush of Christopher and Tom (Barb) Bush of Mulkeytown; six grandchildren, Andrea (Matt) Cockrum and Pete (Sherry) Arro all of Sesser, Dynette Bush of Huntsville, Ala., T.J. (Amber) Bush of Coello, Kara (friend, Jay Day) Bush of Zeigler and Dustin (Tiffany) Bush of West Frankfort; 13 great-grandchildren, Aerin Cockrum, Emeri and Riley Arro, Jackson, Hannah and Emma Bush, Austyn and Doc Bush, Dakota and Mackenzie Smith, Colt Alstat and Sophia and Oliver Bush; sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews, as well as a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; three brothers, Dwight, Carl and Paul Bush and two sisters, Kathern Meridith and Ruth Short.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 3, in First Christian Church in Royalton, with the Rev. Tim Olson officiating. Interment will be in Miner's Cemetery in Royalton. Friends may call after 6 p.m. Thursday, June 2 and from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Friday, both at the church.

Should friends desire, memorials may be made to First Christian Church of Royalton and will be accepted by Campagna Funeral Home.
