DEATHS
ALLEN--In Denver, Colo., November 27, 1937, Temple Allen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Cleve Allen of Lincoln, brother of Ansel Allen of Fort Baker, Calif.; a native of California, aged 25 years.

Lincoln News Messenger, Lincoln, California, 2 Dec 1937, Thursday, pg 1:
Lincoln Boy Dies In Colorado
The parents and friends of Temple Allen were surely shocked last Saturday when word was received here from Fitzsimmon Government General Hospital, Denver, Colorado, that he had passed away there that morning and asked for instructions. Temple had been in the air service for approximately eighteen months, and had been stationed at Fort Del Rossie, Hawaii, since his enlistment until a few months ago, when he was transferred to the Denver hospital for treatment which had promised a cure--in fact--he was to have been discharged soon to return home.
Temple S. Allen was born in Elk Grove, Cal., hence, was a native son, 25 years old. He had lived in Lincoln about thirteen years, having come here when 12 years of age, had attended our schools, was graduate of both the grammar school and the Lincoln Union High School; was very popular with his fellow students and the faculty, as he was one of those genial fellows, who make friends and hold them by sincerity and consideration of others. He was ambitious and determined to get on in the world; was fond of excitement and had joined the air service for the thrills of adventure and the promotion it promised, and the sudden ending of it all is the more pathetic.
He leaves his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Cleve J. Allen and one brother, Ansel, who is also an enlisted man in the army of the United States, being connected with the Coast Artillery, stationed at Fort Baker near San Francisco.
The funeral will be held in the chapel of Hogle's Mortuary, tomorrow, Friday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock under the auspices of James E. Fowler Post No. 264, American Legion. The interment will be in Lincoln Cemetery.
