She was born December 1, 1916 to William Zemira and Minnie Minerva Porter Kartchner in Blanding, Utah. Married Leslie Johnston on July 3, 1937.
Mom was one of the most unselfish women we have ever known. She was always concerned about the welfare of her family and helped take care of her grandchildren on many occasions. She loved to go fishing with Dad and once caught a ten 1/2 pound trout (Dad was very proud).
She was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where she held many positions.
She is survived by daughters, Pat Doman and Lynne (Grant) Price; brother, Loris Kartchner; eight grandchildren; and many great- and great-great- grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, DeRoyce and Jack; sisters, Norma and LaRae.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at 12:00 p.m. in the West Jordan City Cemetery, 1300 West 7800 South.
