Arvid Leroy Charnetzki, 83, Kenmare, ND, formerly of Blaisdell, ND, passed away May 31, 2011 in a Minot hospital. Funeral services are Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Nazareth Lutheran Church, Kenmare. Visitation is Monday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Springan Funeral Home, Stanley and from 10 a.m. to service time on Tuesday at the church.

Arvid was born on June 12, 1927, the youngest of twelve children, on the Charntezki homestead in Stave Township, Mountrail County, to Leo and Alma Charnetzki. He graduated from Stave Township Country School in 1941. Arvid married Connie (Anderson) of Palermo, ND, on November 18, 1950 in Stanley, ND.

Arvid and Connie farmed and ran a dairy plus had a bulk water delivery service. They lived on their farm for 47 years, briefly moving to Blaisdell, ND. In 2005, Arvid and Connie moved to Kenmare to be closer to family. While in Kenmare, they became active members in Nazareth Lutheran Church. He enjoyed going out for coffee and visiting with friends and family. Arvid also loved going to auction sales. He enjoyed spending time with his family and watching his grandkids in their sporting events.

Those who shared in his life: wife, Connie, Kenmare, ND; son, Wayne, Kenmare; daughter, Carol (Mike) Thompson, Kenmare; grandchildren: Jason Thompson, Kenmare, Joey (Brenna) Thompson, Minot, Jackie Thompson, Kenmare, Jordan Thompson, Bismarck; sister, Ida Johnson, Minot; numerous nieces and nephews.

Arvid was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Alma Charnetzki; brothers, Paul, Claudie, Leonard, Clarence, baby boy; sisters, Agnes, Martha, Myrtle, Margaret and Lillie.
