Bowen, Frederick O., 82, of Paden City, WV died Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at Sistersville General Hospital in Sistersville, WV.



Frederick was born February 12, 1929 in Paden City, WV son of the late Fred and Edna Billiter Bowen.



He was former employee of Wissmach Glass in Paden City, retired letter carrier for the Paden City Post Office, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force where he served as a tail gunner, he enjoyed gardening-especially strawberries, was a handy man; member of Sistersville VFW Post 6327 and Paden City American Legion Post 86 and was a Protestant by faith.



In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Christian Bowen, four brothers and one sister.



Surviving are a sister, Hilda Bowen of Paden City, WV and several nieces and nephews.



Friends received 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Friday, May 6, 2011 at Jarvis-Williams Funeral Homes in Paden City, WV where services will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, May 7, 2011 with Pastor David Edwards.



Interment in Paden Memorial Gardens in New Martinsville, WV.



Full military services will be conducted by the Sistersville, Paden City and New Martinsville Honor Guard.



Memorial contributions may be made in Frederick's name to the Paden City Public Library, 114 S. Fourth Ave., Paden City, WV 26159.
