Levi and Sally were both born in Connecticut, and met and married there in Aug 1807.
They started their family there, migrating to Oneida and then Jefferson counties in New York from 1813 to 1831.
The Bacon family all came to Michigan Territory in 1832, remaining briefly at Lima, Washtenaw county where Levi farmed. A few years elapsed before then moving to Pontiac in 1836, settling in Auburn, where they lived and farmed a few years and then moved to the village of Pontiac.
The family of Levi Bacon, Sr., consisted of seven sons:
John, b.1808
Erastus, b.1813
Alanson, b.1818
Levi, Jr., b.1819
Albert, b.1822
Corbit, b.1825
and George, b.1826
The eldest sons John and Erastus sold goods in Auburn at one time, John being involved for a short time in a grist mill with Nelson P. Stewart.
Upon the move to Pontiac, Levi and Sarah eventually came to build a home on the eastern side of the corner of Parke and Saginaw streets. Their son Levi Jr. had the northernly lot formed by the triangle of those intersections, just across the street.
Levi outlived his wife Sarah by 3 years, living to an age of 88 years.
