George W. Adams, 86, of Hillsboro, formerly of Butler, died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2002, at his home. He was born Sept. 11, 1916, in Cotton Hill Township, the son of Earl Roy and Ethel Mary Snyder Adams. He married Lorene Mae Sanders in 1935 in Springfield; she died in 1990. He later married Frances McGiles in 1991 in Butler. A son, Leroy Adams, and an infant son also preceded him in death. Mr. Adams managed Butler Fuel Station and Farmersville Fuel Station. He also farmed and managed an elevator. He was a member of Christian Church of Litchfield. Survivors: wife, Frances; three sons, G. David (wife, Sally) Adams of Hillsboro, Robert A. (wife, Cathy) Adams of Butler and John E. Adams of Florida; four daughters, F. Louise (husband, Donald) Simmons of Vienna, Bonnie Davis of Springfield, Georgia (husband, David) Williams of Butler and Barbara (husband, Roger) Flitz of Litchfield; two stepchildren, Jean Asher of Seymour and Ann Payne of Hillsboro; 19 grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 12 step-great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; a step-great-great-granddaughter; two brothers, Everett Adams of Atwater and Gene Adams of Raymond; and four sisters, Mae Steele of Mattoon, June Funderburk of Raymond, Annabelle Bohlen of Edinburg and Mary Nell Blodgett of Topeka, Kan. Services: 10 a.m. Thursday, Bass-Patton Memorial Home, Hillsboro, Steve Revisky officiating. Burial: Cedar Ridge Cemetery, Honey Bend.
