Neal was the 5th child of Sina Marie (Dahl) and Nels K. Bue. A University of Idaho graduate, he worked as a soil conservationist, and was stationed in the West Yellowstone District at St.Anthony for the 17 yrs preceding his retirement in 1972, when he returned to Moscow. He died five blocks from the house where he was born. He was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church, a member of the Masonic Lodge, active in Lions Club, and a WWII veteran. Neal was unmarried.
