Funeral service for Mrs. Baxter held Thursday
Funeral services were conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. for Mrs. Mary Ella Baxter, 88, Route 4, Lumberton who died suddenly at her home Wednesday at 10 a.m.
Services were conducted at Lumberton Methodist Church with Rev. Ellis Scott officiating with burial in the Lumberton Cemetery.
She was born in Marion County, the daughter of William and Eliza Rankin Warren and had lived at her home in the Baxterville area for 63 years. She was married to the late James E. Baxter. Mrs. Baxter was a member of the Lumberton Methodist Church.
Survivors include five sons, James of Prentiss, Robert of New Orleans, Joe of Montgomery, Ala, and Richard and Rankin of Lumberton; one daughter, Mrs. Sara Lou Throckmorton of Jackson; one sister, Mrs. Josephine Cockin of Bogalusa; 20 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
