At age 15 Harry joined the 13th Ind Battery Wisconsin Light Artillery served in the Union Army during the Civil War. The 13th Ind. Battery was mustered in at Milwaukee, Wisc, on Dec 29 1863 29, 29, 1863, and spent its entire service in New Orleans, and Baton Rougue, LA.
