Clifford "Dutch" B. Kinney, 87, of Idaho Falls, formerly of Bakersfield, Calif., died Aug. 14, 1998, at Idaho Falls Care Center of pneumonia.

He was born Nov. 2, 1910, in Altus, Okla., to Isaac Kinney and America Sparks Kinney. He was raised and attended schools in Altus.

On June 25, 1932, he married Roberta Barnett in Altus. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary last summer.

He worked in the family business, Kinney New and Used Furniture, until he moved to Bakersfield in 1950. There he worked as a bookkeeper and car salesman until his retirement in 1975. In 1996, they moved to Idaho Falls to be near their daughter and her family.

He was a member of the Church of Christ. He enjoyed pool, tap dancing, hunting, fishing and working in his yard. He always had a pleasant disposition and enjoyed being with his family.

Survivors include a daughter, Susan (husband, Thornton) Waite of Idaho Falls; two sisters, Hazel Baker of Altus and Carol Taber of Carpinteria, Calif.; a brother, Paul Kinney of Altus; and two granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his wife, a sister and five brothers.

Graveside services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Fielding Memorial Park with Minister Dennis Winebarger officiating. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Albuquerque Christian Children's Home, 5700 Winter Haven NW, Albuquerque, N.M. 87120 Services are under the direction of Wood Funeral Home in Idaho Falls.
