Clyde William Barnett, 69, of 1445 Hoop Road, died at 191 Cooper Ln., the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Barnett at 4;15 p.m. Saturday, after a long illness. He was born in Jonesville, VA May 23, 1914, the son of Orben and Minnie Robinette Barnett. His wife, the former Laura E. Hanshell, whom he married April 28, 1934, died Feb 25, 1977.
He was a member of the First Pentecostal Church and resided in Xenia since 1950.
He was a retired farmer and former employee of Inland Division of General Motors for 34 years retiring in 1967.
Also surviving are a son, Robert E. Barnett of Xenia; three daughters, Mrs. Gene (Phyllis) Cunningham of Nakomis, FL, Mrs Earl (Myrtle) Waggoner and Mrs, Neil (Margaret) Hartsock of Xenia; two sisters, Emma Roller of Roxanna and Helen Slagle of Xenia; a brother, Charles Ray Barnett of Bellbrook and 15 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Three brothers preceded him in death.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Pentecostal Church, 282 Stelton Rd., with Revs. Bruce and Mark Brooks officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Memorial Gardens.
