John William Walls married 10 Jul 1847 in Lincoln Co. Ky., Margaret Ann Yocum. She was born there 25 Apr 1831, a daughter of Henry Yocum III and the former Martha Ann Wells. Sometime during the next three years John and Margaret Ann moved to Washington County, as did her parents. There John engaged in farming. She died on 28 Feb 1859 in Washington Co., KY, and was buried in the Antioch Christian Church Cemetery in Washington Co., KY. Three daughters were the only known issue of John and Margaret Ann:

2. Sarah J. Walls, born January 31, 1851
3. Jinsey Ann Walls, born January 1854
