Anthony A. Marciante, Sr. passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at the age of 87 years. Beloved husband of the late Lois A. Marciante. Son of the late Joseph Marciante and Josephine Carruba Marciante. He is the father of Linda A. Marciante, Anthony A. Marciante (Kathy) and Kim M. Bourgeois (Ozzie). Brother of Jennie Laborie, Rita Hall, the late Salvador, Frank and Joseph Marciante, Jr. and Conchetta Wright. Grandfather of Melissa Lubag, Chad Marciante, Wendy Major and Toni Lynn Juneau. Great-grandfather of McKenzie, Logan, Kylie Jo, Jackson, Annabelle and Rocky. Survived by a number of nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special "thank you" to Hospice Associates for their compassion and care. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served his country during World War II in the Pacific Theater. In addition to other decorations, he also earned the Combat Infantryman Badge, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with 3 Bronze Stars, the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with 2 Bronze Stars and the Purple Heart. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 from 10 AM to 1:30 PM. A Mass will follow in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Hospice Associates, 3941 Houma Blvd., Ste. 1-A, Metairie, LA 70006.
