died May 29, 2011 in Santa Fe.
She was born July 7, 1920 in Lone Wolf, Okla,
the fourth child of Arthur Clinton and Anna
Jones Morris.
A short time after her birth, the family moved
to Chickasha, Okla.
She was of the 1938 graduation class.
She married J. B. Brooks of Duncan and lived
there until 2003 when for health reasons moved
to Santa Fe to live with daughter Marjorie.
Husband J. B. died in 1979 in Duncan.
She was a member of the Immanuel Baptist
Church and was a member of the Searchlight
Rebekah Lodge for 64 years.
Living in Duncan, she was employed at
F. W.Woolworth, Sunshine Food Market,
Aranson's Apparel, Auto Parts & Equip
and Montgomery Ward, from which she
retired in 1985.
Arthur Jewell was preceded in death by her
parents, brothers J. C. and D. O. Morris
sisters, Merle Dean Brown and Edna Mae Harris,
two nephews and a great neice.
She is survived by her daughter, Marjorie Dee
Brooks of Santa Fe, New Mexico, several neices,
nephews, cousins, and friends.
