Maggie Winnie Whitehead, 83, of Stephenville, died at 12:12 p.m. Thursday in Fisher County Hospital after a brief illness. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel.

The Rev. Bob Baldridge, pastor of Harvey Baptist Church, will officiate, assisted by Terry Fann. Burial will be in Carlton Cemetery.

Born June 30 1894, in Carlton, she had lived in Stephenville for 18 years, moving from Carlton. She married Milton H. Whitehead April 30, 1912 in Gatesville. She was a member of Harvey Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Rufus of San Antonio and the Rev. Ross Whitehead of Clute; six daughters, Juanita Ellison of Crosbyton, Voncille Rosch of Stephenville, Dorothy Landes of Rotan, Loreta Lee of San Antonio, Margaret Kunkel of Carlton, Helen Parks of Arlington; five sisters, Minnie Richards, Elby Fowler, Vera Collins and Antha Fowler, all of Stephenville and Marie Jarvis of Fort Worth; 25 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Milton, and a daughter, Geneva Truelove.
