Robert S. Prewitt, age 77, of Wells Road, Richmond, husband of Virginia Fryman Prewitt, died Sunday, December 22, 1996 at Central Baptist Hospital, Lexington after a short illness.

He was a native of Boyle County, the son of the late Henry B. and Ellen Green Prewitt, a retired Louisville and Nashville Railroad engineer, a member of the Cynthiana Elks Lodge and the Irvine United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by two brothers; Henry C. Prewitt and Herbert Prewitt, and a sister; Virginia Tuttle.

Survivors include: five nephews: Park Prewitt, David Linville Tuttle, Wiliam C. Prewitt, Gary Fryman, and Phillip Mafett, and one niece: Nancy Jo Mays.

Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m., Tuesday, December 24, 1996 at Lewis Funeral Home with Rev. John Hampton officiating. Burial was in Battle Grove Cemetery, Cynthiana.

Visitation was at Lewis Funeral Home after 5:30p.m. on Monday.

Pallbearers were: Jeffery Fryman, Jim Barnes, Gary Fryman, Rick Prewitt, Aubrey Maffett, and David L. Tuttle.
