She was a member of St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church in New Haven. She was retired after 42 years of service with Jim Beam Distilleries in Clermont. She was born Nov. 2, 1934, and was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Mary Etta Gilkey Bowling.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Earl "Junior" Wimsett Jr.; a daughter-in-law, Gayle McCCubbins Wimsett; a grandson, Lawrence Wayne Dones; a special friend, Charles E. Hartman; five brothers, Alfred "Al" Bowling, Frank Bowling, Tom Bowling, Steve Bowling and Sylvester "Ves" Bowling; and a sister, Sister Mildred Bowling, SCN.
Survivors include five sons, James D. "Jiggs" Wimsett, Maynard Wimsett and Larry (Darlene) Wimsett, all of Bardstown, Alfred (Tiffany) Wimsett of Lyons Station and Michael Wimsett of New Haven; a daughter, Vickie Wimsett of Magnolia; a special caregiver, Angie Newton of New Haven; a brother, James A. Bowling of Fairbourne, Ohio; a sister, Vicky (Maynard) McCubbin of Elizabethtown; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The Mass of Christian Burial for Mary Ann Bowling Wimsett will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 31, at St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church in New Haven with the Rev. Troy Overton, pastor, and Father Scott Wimsett officiating. Burial will be in St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church Cemetery in New Haven.
Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday and after 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at William R. Rust Funeral Home in New Haven where there will be prayers at 6 p.m. Monday in the chapel of the funeral home by the Rev. Troy Overton.
