Mrs. Mary E. Wilderman, 80, residing one and a half miles north of Freeburg, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Richard Mummert in St. Louis at 3 a.m. today. She had been in poor health for some time and death was attributed to old age.
She was born on a farm northeast of Freeburg, a daughter of one of St. Clair's pioneer families, the late Albert and Saphronia Wilderman, nee Hill. She married Julius L. Wilderman, November 3, 1885. He died January 16, 1937.
She leaves (at the time of her death), one son and four daughters; Orrin Wilderman, of Freeburg; Myrtle, wife of Henry (Harry) Mummert, of St.Louis; Elise, wife of William Conrad, of St. Louis; Martha, wife of Richard Mummert, of St. Louis; and Flora, wife of Oscar Weiss, near Freeburg.
She also leaves six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services at 2 p.m. Thursday from Freeburg Baptist Church to the family cemetery on the Wilderman farm. The body will be taken from the Meng an Stintzel Funeral Home, Freeburg, to the church at 1 p.m. Thursday. Rev. Roberts will officiate.
