Robert Allen "Bob" Ballard, 63, of Idaho Falls, died August 16, 2007, at his home.
He was born November 10, 1943, in Idaho Falls, to Rex Ballard and Bulah Bradshaw Ballard. He grew up and attended schools in the area and obtained his GED through the Navy. He served in the U.S. Navy and had an honorable discharge as a Quartermaster Third Class.
On October 3, 1964, he married Joyce Ann Leigh in Dubois, Idaho. He worked as a truck driver and a dispatcher for 27 years at Clayton's Inc., and in 2000 went to work for Edwards Brothers/Knight Transportation. He was a past president of Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Bob enjoyed camping, jeeping and especially loved spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Ballard of Idaho Falls; daughter, RaeAnn (Scott) Humpherys of Idaho Falls; son, Robert G. (Annette) Ballard of Victor; grandson, David (Jennifer) Nelson of Idaho Falls; granddaughter, Amanda Humpherys of Idaho Falls; grandson, Adrian Ballard of Victor; brother, Norm (Cyndi) Ballard of Grant; sisters, Velva (Kent) Misseldine and Sheila (Larry) Thatcher, both of Idaho Falls. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; parents; brother, Gary; and a niece, Trika.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 18, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Ave. in Idaho Falls. The family will visit with friends for one hour Saturday before services at the funeral home. Military rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Team.
