Mrs. Katie C. Tift, wife of Joseph Tift, died at her home in this city on the 30th day of November. The deceased leaves her husband and a large family of children to mourn her death. The lady was about 40 years of age, and had resided in this city for the last eight years. The funeral services were conducted by the Rev. E. J. Brownson on Wednesday, and the remains were interred in Evergreen cemetery. (Brainerd Dispatch, Friday, 03 December 1886, p.4, c. 5)
