BERNARD SEIDEL OBITUARY
Bernard "Ben" J. Seidel, 67, of Medford, died Sunday, Sept. 25, 2011, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital where he had been a patient for the past five days.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 29 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford. Father Gerard Willger and Deacon Joseph Stefancin will officiate.
Burial will be in Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery, Medford. Pallbearers will be Tom Grundy, Richard Kaye, Dennis Koch, Dale Ludwig, Don Wibben and Ray Henrichs.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept.28 at the Hemer Funeral Home, Medford, where there will be a 6:45 p.m. prayer service; and also from 9 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 29 at the Hemer Funeral Home.
Bernard was born Sept. 21, 1944, in Marshfield to Bernard Edward and Frances Monica (Bohte) Seidel. He attended Westboro Elementary School and was a high school graduate of Westboro.
He was united in marriage Aug. 20, 1966, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford, to Donna M. Sperl.
As a young man Ben helped at his family's grocery store in Westboro. He was the meat cutter/manager at Copp's Corp. from 1967 to 2004. He then was a meat cutter for Medford County Market for the last six years until his retirement in May 2011.
Ben enjoyed camping, bowling, mowing lawn, snow blowing, trips to the casino traveling and most of all spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Donna M. Seidel of Medford; children, Mark (significant other, Kristi Sullivan) of Eau Claire, Scott (Jeni) Seidel of Wausau, twins — Ricky (Kelly) Seidel of Stoughton and Robby (Carrie) Seidel of Stetsonville, and Susan (Jason) Klingbeil of Medford; grandchildren, Conner, Cooper and Carter Klingbeil, Meredith, Francine, Vincent, Anthony, Greta, Delaney, Teagan, Julia and Isaac Seidel and Kala Catlin.
He is further survived by two sisters, Patricia (Richard) Makovec of Neenah and Kathleen (James) Callear of Elizabeth, Pa.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Ben's family to be designated at a later date.
