Barbara Alice Atkinson, four year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Odie Atkinson, of Hidalgo, was fatally injured when struck by her parent's automobile Friday afternoon at their home.
A brother, Harold Atkinson, age 14, shifted the gears on the parked car to neutral and the car rolled back onto the child. She was not believed seriously hurt. The car did not run over her. Later she became ill and died at 4:30 am Saturday from internal injuries.
Survivors include her parents, two sisters, Joyce and Marie Atkinson, Hidalgo, and three brothers. Harvey Atkinson, Hidalgo, and Bill and Kenneth Atkinson, Richmond, Ind.
The funeral was held Sunday at Taylor's Grove at 2:00 pm with Bro. W. C. Massengale in charge. Music by the Bertram Family, and Richard R. Lee, Funeral Director in charge.
