- New Market (Special)--William (Bill) Harper, 71, died Saturday at his home in New Market at 9 am of a heart attack. He had started the mower in preparation to mow his lawn. He sat down to rest and died.

Mr and Mrs Harper have lived in New Market 28 years. He was born at Blanchard. He worked in the recreation halls in New Market for many years. He is a veteran of World War I, a member of the New Market American Legion, and the Elks Lodge.

Surviving are his wife, Louise, 2 sons, Darrell Wayne of Marysville, Wash, and Ronald William of Ontario, Calif, two daughter-in-laws, one granddaughter, Brenda Joy, three grandsons, Kenneth, Kevin, and Kelley. His brothers are Charles Harper of College Springs and Ernest Harper in Washington.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 pm at the Walker Funeral Home in Clarinda. Reverend Lacy Thompson will be in charge. Burial will be in the Memory Cemetery with military graveside service by the New Market Legion post. CLARINDA HERALD JOURNAL, Clarinda, Iowa, Jul 28, 1958
