Thomas was born between 1570 and 1575 and could not have been the son of William Hale. The 1575 birth estimate is based upon his marriage to Joan Kirbie on 19 October 1601 at Watton. He could not have been born in 1590 and married at age 11. William Hale would have been but 7 at most when Thomas was born.

Thomas was buried on 19 October 1630, so his death was probably 2-3 days prior to that date, most likely on the 16th. No gravestone was erected. His Last Will and Testament was dated 11 October 1630 and proven at Hitchin. The original is at the Hertfordshire Archives in Hertford.

The suggestion that his parents are William and Rose (Bond) Hale has previously been shown to be incorrect.
