She was born in Bass(Cave Creek)the daughter of Amos Moses and Ida Lee Taylor Dean. She lived in the Alicia and Strangers Home area before moving to Columbia 36 years ago. She worked at University Hospital for 15 years until her retirement and was a memeber of the Fairview Road Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charlie Cox; her second husband, Fred Polston; a son, Lilburn Lee Cox; three brothers, Grady Dean, Murl Dean and Eual Dean; and two siters, Nima Dean Colvey and Ima Dean Stroud.
Survivors include two half-sisters, Dorothy Flushing and Elizabeth Thompson, both of Texas; a step-sister, Eatheline Justice, Texas; a step-brother, Gerald Kress, Texas; two grandchidlren, Stacy Cox and Autumn (Rhonda) Cox; and two great grandchildren.
