A mystery for this airman:

Entered the service from Minnesota; Army Enlistment record lists his residence as Dane County, Wisconsin; US Army Air Forces fatalities list does not have an aircraft serial number attached to his name; The only (known) 7th Bomb Group, 10th Air Force, aircraft loss/casualty for November 27, 1943 is
HERE
The only Missing Air Crew Report for the 7th BG for November 27, 1943 is MACR 1232.

Was his name missing from a MACR due to a transcribing error?
If his death was accidental, such a crash landing in India, there is no aircraft accident for the 7th BG listed on his date of death.
The location and circumstances of his death are unknown, without a Quartermasters report form to review.
(Most) servicemembers' remains for the China-Burma-India region were handled through the U.S. military's mausoleum and mortuary services at Manila, Philippines following World War II. Records of these processes are not readily available for review.
The 7th Bomb Group was operating out of East India at the time of the death noted on the grave marker.
Deaths from injuries unrelated to the operation of an aircraft, or illness, are not usually listed on the USAAF casualty database.
A tribute website for the 7th BG has Nicholas listed as a Bombardier, but date of death is not specifically listed, and no aircraft serial number mentioned.

Entered the service from Wisconsin; Dane County; Service ID: O-731120.
