John Henry Joiner Sr., 98, of Rogersville, died Wednesday, May 25, 2011, at his residence.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, May 27, at Rogersville Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel. Chris Joiner and Andy Hughes will be officiating. Burial will follow in Butler Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Gary Hamby, Robert Baugher, James Baker, Chris Simmons, Bill Steen and Barry Grisham. Honorary pallbearers are Kenneth Phillips, Larry Gautney and B.H. Parker.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Gautney Joiner; parents, Jim and Susan Steen Joiner; son, Bobby Edward Joiner; four brothers; three sisters; and two grandchildren.
He is survived by his son, John (Shelby) Joiner Jr.; daughters, Robbie Hamby and Sue Baugher; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
