Mr. Passal was a Navy veteran, having served as Seabee during World War II, and participated on the honor flight to the World War II memorial in Washington, D.C., with his brother, Joseph. Hank enjoyed vegetable gardening, fishing and bowling, and was an avid reader. He was a people-person who loved his family. He would build birdhouses, and even traveled to Texas at age 90 to build a bridge over a creek at his daughter's home. Surviving are his daughters, Marilyn Bernhard of Libertyville and Marlene Casey of Nacogdoches, Texas; grandchildren, Kimberly Bernhard (Glenn Holmes), Jennifer (David) Rossman and Patrick Casey (Conny Core); great-granddaughter, Ava Louise Rossman; his sister, Nancy Weber; and brothers, Frank Passalaqua and Joseph (Gertrude) Passalaqua; and his little dog, Colleen. He was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Louise Passall, on Jan. 28, 2010.
