DEATH SUMMONS WM. F. KOEHLER

William Frederick Koehler was born July 1, 1842 in Rettgensted, Prussia, Germany and departed this life December 2th, 1932 at the age of 90 years, 5 months and 11 days. When he was 10 years of age his parents brought their family to America and settled in Wisconsin. Some years the family moved to LaSalle County, Illinois. Here he became converted to the Christian faith and joined the Evangelical Church. Here also in 1868 he was united in marriage to Anna Seefus. In 1878 the family moved to Papillion, Sarpy County Nebraska where he became a member of the Methodist Church and formed many happy friendships which have lasted thru the years.
In 1900 the family again changed location, moving to Polk County, where "Grandpa Koehler" as he is now widely known, has since made his home. Here his faithful wife and partner answered the final summons March 24, 1923. Two children, Matilda as a child and Mrs. Robert Knapp on April 18, 1926, preceded their father to the heavenly home. Left to mourn his departure and cherish his memory are one sister, Mrs. I. H. Carpenter of Springfield, Nebraska; nine children as follows: Mrs. M. H. Holbrook of Scottsbluff, Nebr.; Rev. C. W. Koehler of Hayward, California; Mrs. Clara Berck of Stromsburg; Walter of Silver Creek; George, John, Wesley, Elton and Mrs. W. G. Herrmann of Osceola; also thirty nine grand children and twelve great-grand children.
Though his life was one of hardship and toll, it was beautified and sanctified by the faith to which it bore testimony. Funeral
services were held yesterday afternoon, December 14th, 1932 at the Methodist Church in Osceola. Rev. W. H. Wright pastor of the church conducted the service. Interment was in the Osceola cemetery.
