John H. Bennett
Mr. John H. Bennett, age 88 of Whitney, died Tuesday morning, March 29, 1988 in the Lake Whitney Memorial Hospital. Funeral will be today, April 1, at 2 p.m. at the Marshall and Marshall Chapel in Whitney with Rev. Johnny Pelham and Joe Blakeney officiating. Burial is in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Whitney.
Mr. Bennett was born September 19, 1899 in the Bethel Community near Whitney, the son of Thomas and Martha S. Crow Bennett. He married Willie Lee Duncan November 14, 1920 and she died September 13, 1980. He was also preceded in death by his parents, and infant son and 2 brothers, George A. Bennett and Thomas W. Bennett. He was a retired farmer.
He is survived by 2 daughters, Louise Carroll and Beatrice Holland of Whitney; 3 grandsons, Ronnie Holland of Mexia, Gene Holland of Whitney and Johnnie Ray Wood of Mexia State School and 1 granddaughter, Ronda Lynn Holland of Houston.
