Sarah aka Sharon Pearce Wright was born in the Bunker Hill area of Fayette County, the last of seven children of Herman Avery Pearce and Flora Bennington Pearce. The fifth, sixth, and seventh children were born three years aprt and were called "The Little Ones," though they were not the smaller of the seven.

When the family moved near Fairfield, they attended the Blooming Grove School.

About 1929, she and her sister, Carrie, moved to Richmond to work in a lingerie factory, then a glove factory, they said.

After her husband, Bus Wright, stopped working for auto dealerships in Michigan, Sharon and he operated homestyle cooking restaurants in MI, including in Pontiac, and in IN, including the Coffee Pot on Hwy 40 (National Road) west of Richmond, IN (large coffee pot emblem sign along highway) during WWII, and in Anderson, IN. They sold their last restaurant in Anderson, IN by January 1967 and retired.

Sharon Wright stood over six feet tall and was memorable for her beautiful light skin, and platinum white hair.
