The son of Jacob and Arabelle Charter Hainline, he was born Apr 24, 1878, in Blandinsville, Ill. He moved to Albia as a boy and lived there until moving to Ottumwa three years ago.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Ethel Burbank of University Park, Mrs. Dorothy Puffinbarger and Mrs. Nellie Barnett, both of Ottumwa; one son, Ted, of Albia; two brothers, William and Hobart, both of Ottumwa, three sisters, Mrs. Hattie Kennedy of Berthoud, Colo., Mrs. Ruben Power of San Gabriel, Calif. and Mrs. Charles McHendry of Agency; 23 grandchildren and 62 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Downs Funeral Home in Albia, with the Rev. Frank Marler of the First Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in the Oak View Cemetery.
